The company works in close cooperation with the other companies of Vaahto Paper Technology –division, which are Vaahto Pulp & Paper Machinery Distribution (Shanghai) Co. Ltd and AP-Tela Oy.

Vaahto Paper Technology Ltd has two business units: Vaahto Projects and Vaahto Service.

Vaahto Projects unit develops its customers’ production processes by designing and manufacturing entire production lines, machinery and equipment, and related components for the paper, board, and pulp industry. It specializes in rebuilding of paper, board, and pulp drying machines.

Vaahto Service unit supports its customers’ investments throughout life cycles of machines by improving and producing new technology –related services in the fields of maintenance and spare parts services of the paper, board, pulp and other customer industries. The expertise includes, e.g. demanding roll covers and roll servicing.

The products and maintenance services of Vaahto Ltd increases its customers’ competitiveness by boosting production capabilities of paper and board machines and improving the quality of the end products. History

The operations of Vaahto Paper Technology Ltd were started in 1874 in Hollola. The company has been among the first companies to introduce electrical welding and to manufacture equipment from stainless steel in Finland. It has been a significant supplier of process machinery already from the 1930’s. In the 1940’s the company started making components for pulp and paper industry. Vaahto Ltd has been a significant supplier of pulp and paper machinery in the 1980’s.

The roots of service business lie in Tampere, where AK-Tehdas Oy has served roll customers since 1960’s and also been one of the high-tech technology leaders in this business ever since. Since 1996 the company has been part of the Vaahto Group, last with the name Vaahto Roll Service Oy. In 2009 Vaahto Roll Service Oy merged with Vaahto Ltd, and mostly from it the Vaahto Service unit was formed.

The name of the company was Vaahto Ltd until December 19, 2011, from which it has been Vaahto Paper Technology Ltd.
